College Football Hall of Fame

In 2014, the College Football Hall of Fame (the Hall) opened in Atlanta. The Hall contains five themed galleries, a three-story wall of 770 college football helmets, a variety of event spaces, and more than 50 experiential, multimedia, interactive, and historical exhibits utilizing RFID technology that enables visitors to engage with their favorite college football team. DaVinci Development principals John Goff and David Scott (then with Cousins Properties and Gude Management, respectively) led the development management for the Hall, which included a $15M Public Private Partnership with the State of Georgia. Project executives worked with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, State agencies, and attorneys to develop a transactional and operational structure that preserved the public interest while providing flexibility for private investment and management resources to create a premier attraction. The project additionally required extensive coordination of architects, exhibit designers, artists, IT specialists, fabricators, and contractors during all pre-development and construction activities. Under the guidance of DaVinci Development executives, the project was delivered ahead of time and on budget. Today, the Hall receives 500,000 visitors annually and brings an estimated economic impact of approximately $12.7 million per year. It remains one of the most popular tourist attractions and sought-after special event facilities in Atlanta.
