DaVinci Development Collaborative was engaged by Centra Health to provide development advisory services in support of Centra’s long-term strategic campus planning and the repositioning of key hospital assets in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Working in collaboration with Progressive Companies and Centra leadership, DaVinci is supporting the evaluation of redevelopment and adaptive reuse strategies for the historic Virginia Baptist Hospital campus and adjacent properties.

The engagement includes providing our objective perspective to the project, participating in Centra’s visioning and goal-setting process, aligning redevelopment strategies with Centra’s broader health system objectives, and evaluating adaptive reuse alternatives for underutilized assets. DaVinci’s work includes market analysis, precedent case studies, financial modeling, and redevelopment feasibility analysis to test viable reuse scenarios and inform and empower executive decision-making.

As part of this effort, DaVinci is reviewing existing building conditions, infrastructure, and site constraints; assessing repositioning strategies; and preparing preliminary development concepts that include land use, density, parking, mobility, and phasing considerations. The team is applying a disciplined development lens to identify strategies that enhance long-term value, support community health outcomes, and align with Centra’s capital priorities.

Through collaborative work sessions and scenario testing, DaVinci is helping Centra define a defensible business case and implementation roadmap to guide next steps in the redevelopment process.
