Seventh & Tryon, a major thoroughfare in Uptown Charlotte, was a hugely underutilized property, one pedestrians avoided. Four diverse landowners, spearheaded by the Charlotte Public Library, brought DaVinci Development on board to help establish an inclusive, authentic, vibrant, and new neighborhood by crafting a development strategy based on market realities that unlock capital value and increase tax revenues.
A vital component of this upcoming development is a variety of senior, affordable and marking rate housing offerings, as well as active street-level retail, and inviting green spaces. The project began with DaVinci Development leading the four property owners and other stakeholders through a series of exercises to establish a shared vision and set of principles that continue to guide the project today. Focus groups and individual stakeholder interviews with more than 100 residents illustrated that the project would serve the community best by focusing on the redevelopment of crucial city assets such as the main library and the historic McGlohon Theater to catalyze broader redevelopment in the area.
The project's vision establishes an inclusive, authentic, vibrant, and unique neighborhood by crafting a development strategy based on market realities that will unlock capital value and increase tax revenues. Seventh & Tryon is just the type of complex mission-oriented public-private project upon which DaVinci Development thrives. With four diverse landowners, a project with this much delicacy and potential requires a balance of patience and urgency. This is a quality DaVinci Development has mastered in the development process - knowing when to take time with decisions and when to act.
